About Us
Hello from Eakring WI
We are situated in a prime position of the county - that is we are approximately 10 miles from Newark, Mansfield, Worksop and Southwell well give or take a few miles! Eakring village is itself well known for Oil, it was found here during World War 11 and had a great impact on the village with BP having it's major exploration headquarters here until the 1990's. Eakring WI was formed in 1941 and had a Fruit canning project at that time.
We are a lively diverse group of ladies, with an age range from 35 to over 80. At the moment we have 20 members which for a small village is very good even if we say so ourselves! If you would like to come to one of our meetings have a look at the Programme of Meetings page for the dates and times.
We have a Darts Team who play in the Federation league and every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month we play Kurling & Rummikub in the Cator Hall. You are welcome to join us for a game.
